DISPLACEMENT AUGERS

Auger Soil Displacement piling is an innovative way of cast in-situ concrete piles for small diameters till 600mm.
The method reduces the spoil arising from the bored pile by a factor of around 90% when compared to comparable CFA system. As a result, a small volume of spoil is brought to the surface with the auger, generally adhering to the narrower section of the auger stem above the tool.
The preconditions are:
1. Modern rotary drilling rig with high: torque, downward thrust and pull force. It should be also equipped with a tall torsion-resistant drill mast.
2. Easy displaceable soils: sandy gravel, sand, silt and clay to soft organic soils, the auger displacement tool is able to quickly and effectively place augered piles with minimal spoil and little effect from variable groundwater levels. The method of placing is similar to CFA methods, the displacement auger has a hollow stem through which concrete is placed directly into the base of the pile bore at the required depth.
